Description : OCR (Optical Character Recognition) Software allows you to extract Text from a Image File. A good OCR software often comes with a huge price tag but If you already have Office 2007 or Office 2010 installed in your computer then you can save that money by using the OCR capability bundled with Office OneNote. OneNote is a very good Note Taking application but very few people know that it is equally good in OCR. The great thing about OneNote is that it can recognize almost 52 different languages.
Follow the steps :
- Open Microsoft Office OneNote from your Start-Menu. Now Click on the “File Button” and select “Options” from the back-stage view of OneNote.
- Now in the “Options” window navigate to the “Advanced” Tab. Now scroll down till the end. There you will see the option to Disable Text Recognition. Make sure that the box remained Unchecked. Click Ok to Continue.
- After setting up the settings you are ready to Use. Now go to any one of your Notebook Page and Insert The picture you want to OCR into that post . You can use the “Insert” tab in our OneNote ribbon to insert the image.
- Now Right–Click on your image file and select “Copy Text From Picture”.
- Now paste it in any "Text Editor".
- VOILĂ€ :D
Note : This feature is available in OneNote 2007 and 2010. OneNote 2007 is included with Office 2007 Home and Student, Enterprise, and Ultimate, while OneNote 2010 is included with all edition of Office 2010 except for Starter edition. You can use this link(http://adf.ly/Cuexk) to get 60 days free trial.
